Enrollment Information
Nord Country School is a free, public K-8 elementary charter school. Below please find our application forms in English and Spanish. We limit our class-sizes and maintain waiting lists for our classes. Please inquire with the office to find out if there is room for your student or to put your student on our waiting list.

The California Education Code (sections 32280-32288) outlines the requirements of all schools operating any kindergarten and any grades 1 to 12, inclusive, to write and develop a school safety plan relevant to the needs and resources of that particular school. In 2004, the Legislature and Governor recast and renumbered the Comprehensive School Safety Plan provisions in SB 719 and AB 115. It is the intent of the Legislature in enacting the provisions to support California public schools as they develop their mandated comprehensive safety plans that are the result of a systematic planning process, that include strategies aimed at the prevention of, and education about, potential incidents involving crime and violence on school campuses.

As a charter school, Nord Country School is guided by a charter petition, submitted periodically to our authorizing entity, Chico Unified School District. Just recently, we were approved for a five-year renewal for 2017 through 2022.

Nord Country School's water supply comes from a single groundwater well located at the school site. Water quality is tested regularly by our water system operator. The water quality assurance program is monitored and audited annually by Butte County Department of Public Health. One of the requirements to ensure the health of our water system and our students is the posting of a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) which itemizes the constituents of our drinking water and the hazards that may exist.

The School Accountability Report Card (SARC) is a report generated by all California public schools annually to provide information about themselves to the community, allowing the public to evaluate and compare schools for student achievement, environment, resources and demographics.

The Expanded Learning Opportunity Grant Plan documents our efforts to provide supplemental instruction and support to students. Funds will be used to implement a learning recovery program for all students, but in particular for those students adversely affected by events since March 2020.

The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds under the American Rescue Plan Act will be used to address student's academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs or in other ways to maximize safe, in-person instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan was informed by stakeholder input gathered in Spring 2021 for the Expanded Learning Opportunity Grant.

The Local Control and Accountability Plan documents our efforts to include parents, educators, students, and the community in the critical decisions regarding how to use our available funding to serve our students.

FERPA Notice and Objection Form
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) sets out requirements for the protection of privacy of parents and students, including privacy of student records. Generally, parents and/or students must provide written consent before an educational agency may disclose personally identifiable information (PII). However, there are exceptions to this general rule. Specifically, an educational agency must provide PII when ordered by a court, which the CDE has been ordered to do in litigation. The CDE is obligated to inform the parent or student that the court has ordered it to produce documents and/or data that includes those individuals’ PII and that such persons may object directly to the court regarding this disclosure.
