Katrina DuVal has been a Nord Country School parent since 2011. Katrina began her teaching career in 2008 as a teacher at Nord Country School. She is currently an independent study teacher at CORE Butte Charter School. She also has experience serving on various math councils and working through the Chico State Math Project.

Cassi Pearce has lived in Chico since 1998. She graduated from Chico State with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Cassi has taught in both Private and Charter schools for the last 21 years, teaching multiple grade levels Kindergarten to 4th grade. Most recently Cassi was a math intervention teacher. Cassi has attended many science and math trainings as well as training on assessments and curriculum.  She is married and has 2 kids that attend Nord. In their free time they like to visit San Diego, go camping, play soccer and hang out as a family. 

Monique has been part of the Nord staff since the fall of 2010. She is our reading specialist and full time intervention teacher. After graduating from Chico State, Monique started her teaching career in 1998 as a second grade teacher in Red Bluff. After living in Redding for many years as well as a short time in Burbank and Santa Cruz she was very happy to have the opportunity to move back to Chico with her husband and two kids in 2010. Both her children are now Nord Country School graduates. Monique’s passion is making connections with students and teaching kids to read. In addition to her love for being a mom and a teacher she enjoys traveling  and going on outdoor adventures. She is looking forward to her new role as Teacher Representative on our school board.

Melissa Deen has been a Nord Country School parent since 2020. She currently works at Morrison Company as a Grant Administration, Bookkeeping & Support Services Specialist. Before that, Melissa worked as an Executive Assistant at Women’s Resource Clinic in Chico where she was initially responsible for accounts receivable and administration. Melissa excelled in her position and was appointed Director of Development, overseeing the organization's fundraising, planned events, donor relationships, and seeking sponsorship opportunities. Additionally, she has enjoyed lending her skills as a bookkeeper to two churches in the local community and was a substitute office manager in the Nord Country School office in 2023. Melissa is married to Brian Deen with 4 kids that have all attended Nord. She was an active member of the NCS PTO board for 4 years helping to raise funds for different needs of the teachers and children at the school.

Lee Carrell was born and raised in Chico and has been a Nord Country School parent since 2020. He currently works at Chico State as a Media Production Specialist. Before that, Lee spent more than a decade at Action News Now as a sports anchor and reporter. Lee is married with 3 kids. As a family they love to travel and have a goal to try and make it to all 50 states.
